The demand for electricity production is increasing rapidly with each new industrial facility that ensures the development of our country and each new user. In order to secure the uninterrupted supply of the energy we need, new and modern power plants must be established.
With the belief that it will play an important role in reducing our country's electricity deficit and contribute to our country's economy İZDEMİR Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. proceeded in planning to establish a 350 MW Supercritical Thermal Power Plant in Aliağa, Izmir. After the necessary permit procedures were completed, the project was tendered to China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) from the People's Republic of China. However, only critical equipment such as supercritical boilers, turbine-generators and flue gas treatment systems (DeSOx and DeNOx) are considered turnkey projects, both in terms of increasing the contribution to our country's economy and increasing employment by creating local job resources. Other than the supply and installation of the critical equipment in question, the supply, assembly and commissioning of auxiliary units such as;

- Wastewater Treatment
- Cooling tower
- Step-up Transformer and Switchgear (GIS)
- Auxiliary Boiler
- Electrostatic Filter
- Analysis Laboratories
- Sea Water and Wastewater Transmission Line
as well as the construction design and all building work will be sourced through local suppliers/contractors. Thus, the project aims to maximize contribution to our country’s economy.
The İZDEMİR Power Plant, which is planned to be built with the latest technology in accordance with the technical and environmental standards valid in Turkey and the world, will deliver 2,664,000,000 kWh of electrical energy annually to the national grid in an environmentally friendly, continuous, reliable and high-quality manner.
Izmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş., the major partner of İZDEMİR Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. (İDÇ) was established in 1975 with the aim of producing long rolled products. The modern rolling mill facilities began operating in 1983 and the steel mill began in 1987. The facility continues production on an area of over 500 thousand square meters within the Aliağa heavy industrial zone. In order to further advance its technology, quality and production, İDÇ increased its steel mill production capacity to 1,500,000 tons/year and its rolling mill production capacity to 900,000 tons/year through new investments in 2006 and 2007.
