Pulverized coal burning technology, one of the clean coal burning technologies, will be applied in our energy production facility. Imported coal will be used as the main fuel in our facility and natural gas will be used as auxiliary fuel.

Coal is conveyed from the stock area to the boiler via a closed conveyor belt system. Coal pulverized in mills is burned in the boiler through burners.

The combustion temperature inside the boiler will be around 1,400°C. The high-pressure steam obtained in the steam boiler will pass a conventional steam turbine and enable the generator working with the steam turbine to produce electricity. The steam coming out of the turbine will be condensed in the condenser system and sent to the steam boiler and steam will be produced again.

The flue gas released from combustion in the boiler will be directed to the chimney after first passing through the DeNOx unit to remove nitrogen oxides, then through the electrostatic dust collector filters and then through the sulphur dioxide removal facility. At our facility, which will be built with the latest technology in accordance with the technical and environmental standards valid in Turkey and the world, will produce 2,664,000,000 kWh of electrical energy annually and supply this at 380 kV level to the national grid in an environmentally friendly, continuous, reliable and high-quality manner. This production amount corresponds to 1% of our country’s annual demand.

The power plant to be established will operate with high efficiency and consume less fuel per unit energy production, thus ensuring the economical and clean use of coal. Thanks to this modern technology, which makes it possible to get more efficiency with less fuel in similar systems being implemented, our facility will operate in compliance with all existing environmental criteria in the European Union and the United States and will produce in maximum compliance with the criteria in air quality preservation, water pollution and noise control regulations.

These low emission values are guaranteed with the DeNOx and Flue Gas Sulphur Purification Technologies and Electrostatic Dust Sedimentation Filters to be used. Ash and gypsum, which are the main wastes produced during the power generation of the power plant, will be used as raw materials in cement and gypsum factories, as in Germany and all other developed countries, and will be recycled as economic value.
